Dr. Higgins on management of post-Aquablation blood loss

“From our standpoint, bigger prostates bleed more…From that, we started taking a different approach for those larger prostates,” says Andrew Higgins, MD.

In this video, Andrew Higgins, MD, discusses the background and findings of the study, “Prostate Aquablation: 2 years of perioperative outcomes,” presented recently at the 2021 American Urological Association annual meeting.

In the study, Higgins and coauthors implemented electrocautery protocols to mitigate blood loss among patients undergoing Aquablation.

Higgins is a urology resident at Einstein Healthcare Network, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
