“With an increase in medical and surgical therapies in younger individuals, health care providers must discuss fertility preservation options prior to affirmation therapy,” says Niki Parikh, MD, MBA, MSBA.

In this video, Niki Parikh, MD, MBA, MSBA, discusses what can be done to improve fertility care in patients who are transgender, and also shares a take-home message from the study, Health care disparities in the transgender population, which was presented at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Parikh is a PGY-4 urology resident at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
