Chicago- A patient skill kit developed by the Surgical Patient Education Program of the Division of Education of the American College of Surgeons aims to better prepare surgical patients with bladder or colon cancer for their ostomy care post-discharge. The kit is comprehensive and interactive, providing patients with a simple ostomy simulator, sample pouches, a measurement guide, scissors, instruction booklet, a CD-ROM with demonstrations of each skill, and more.
