“While patient facing apps hold great potential to support self-management behaviors, particularly in stone disease, thoughtful consideration across an array of domains should really be taken prior to supporting or even recommending one of these apps to a patient,” says Jared S. Winoker, MD.

In this video, Jared S. Winoker, MD, discusses findings from the Journal of Endourology study, “Systematic Evaluation of Smartphone Applications for the Medical Management of Nephrolithiasis,” for which he served as a study author. Winoker is assistant professor of urology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
