The Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) has formed the SUNA Foundation in a move to further its commitment to excellence in urologic clinical practice and research.
The foundation will fund research projects related to urologic disease or treatment and will award scholarships for advanced education or specialized training for SUNA members. As SUNA members explore new research ideas, further their nursing education, and advance urologic care and treatment, patients ultimately will benefit, according to the society.
“The timing is appropriate for SUNA to form a foundation and create a new continuum of knowledge,” said Foundation Chair Ardeth Hale, CURN, a retired urologic nurse in Eugene, OR. “As members take advantage of the grants and scholarships available, SUNA will continue to advance the urologic nursing specialty and improve patient care.”
Corporations, SUNA members, and others interested in urologic health care will provide support for the foundation.
