Edmund Sabanegh, Jr, MD, has been named chairman of the department of urology in the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Sabanegh joined Cleveland Clinic in 2006 and has served as director of the Center for Male Fertility. In addition, he is the program director for the Male Infertility Fellowship, leading one of the few male infertility fellowship programs in the United States that combines basic research with extensive clinical experience.
Dr. Sabanegh has authored 140 peer-reviewed publications and has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings. He is an associate editor of Urology and is a reviewer for numerous other urologic journals.
His surgical interests include microsurgical reconstruction of the male reproductive tract and advanced sperm harvest techniques as well as surgical management of stones and prostate disease. His research interests include complex reconstructions for obstruction of the reproductive tract, fertility preservation in cancer patients, and environmental influences on fertility.
