Systems in place to prevent errors – 1) Surgical checklist; 2) Intraoperative Surgical Pause

Patient education efforts – Patients receive instructions on how to care for their catheters and what to expect before, during, and after surgery.

Evidence of incorporating research and clinical care – Research performed at Mayo has demonstrated that prostate cancer recurrence is likely to occur at a higher PSA cutoff point than was previously assumed.
