Mitchell C. Benson, MD, has been appointed chairman of the department of urology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and urologist-in-chief at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia.

Mitchell C. Benson, MD, has been appointed chairman of the department of urology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and urologist-in-chief at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia. Dr. Benson is the George F. Cahill professor of urology at Columbia and attending physician and director of urologic oncology at New York Presbyterian.

Among his accomplishments, Dr. Benson has developed new surgical techniques to reduce the side effects of prostate and bladder cancer surgery and was instrumental in the application of PSA.
