Inderbir Gill, MD, has been appointed chairman of the department of urology at the Cleveland Clinic. The department of urology is one of three departments within the new Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, along with the department of regional urology and the department of nephrology and hypertension.
The announcement was made by Andrew Novick, MD, chairman of the Glickman Institute.
Dr. Gill has been a member of the Cleveland Clinic professional staff since 1997. He has served as vice chairman of the Glickman Urological Institute and holds a faculty appointment as professor of surgery within the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Gill’s surgical skill and innovation have earned national and international recognition for him as a leader in minimally invasive urologic surgery. He was recently awarded the St. Paul’s Medal by the British Association of Urological Surgeons. He has authored 327 scientific publications and 46 book chapters and is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Endourology, European Urology, and the British Journal of Urology.
