Dr. Steckel named urology vice chairman at North Shore U. Hospital

The Arthur Smith Institute for Urology at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System's Center for Advanced Medicine has appointed Joph Steckel, MD, as vice chairman of urology at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY.

The Arthur Smith Institute for Urology at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System's Center for Advanced Medicine has appointed Joph Steckel, MD, as vice chairman of urology at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY.

Dr. Steckel specializes in urologic oncology, including the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. He is regarded as a pioneer in developing continent diversion procedures for bladder cancer that are designed to offer patients a superior quality of life.

Dr. Steckel has had admitting privileges at North Shore University Hospital since 1993, and previously served the hospital as director of urologic oncology and assistant chairman of urology. He is also director of the New York Hospital-NSUH urology residency program.
