IC pain perception unaltered by pH neutralization
San Francisco--Results from a study evaluating the effect of urinary pH alteration in patients with interstitial cystitis suggest little benefit is likely gained from alkalinizing the urine to a neutral pH. Nevertheless, the question of how urine pH affects IC symptoms remains unanswered and requires further study, concluded the authors, from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
