Web site helps men make prostate cancer Tx choices
Ann Arbor, MI-The Michigan Cancer Coalition and urologist John T. Wei, MD, have developed a web site to help men with early-stage prostate cancer and their families find accurate scientific information and make educated choices about their treatment. Making the Choice: Deciding What to Do About Early Stage Prostate Cancer explains the disease and the meaning of test results, and discusses the range of treatment options, including benefits and drawbacks of each, allowing the patient to make side-by-side comparisons. Post-treatment issues, questions to ask the physician, a glossary, a list of education and support resources, and a progress chart also are presented. The site offers audio access and English, Spanish, and Arabic print versions.
