Roswell Park welcomes Dr. Heemers to urology department

Hannelore Heemers, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor in the department of urology and member of the genitourinary program at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.

Previously, Dr. Heemers was a research associate at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She graduated from Catholic University, Leuven, Belgium, and did her post-doctoral work at Mayo Clinic. She has been honored with several awards, including the Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health Prostate Specialized Programs of Research Excellence. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
