Some Ascension hospitals continue to divert ambulances to other facilities for emergency treatment, but some of the system’s hospitals are accepting all patients.

The findings of harassment and inappropriate behavior come at a time when there is widespread agreement among health care leaders about the need for a more diverse physician workforce.

“The answer won’t be found in telling physicians to be more resilient,” said AMA president and health policy expert Jack Resneck Jr., MD.
