A new laparoscopic ultrasound probe recently cleared for market by the FDA is being offered as an option on Endocare, Inc.'s Cryocare CS System. The four-way articulating linear array of the 7.0-Hz probe uses color Doppler for more precise, clear images during keyhole surgery, the company says. The probe plugs directly into the system and is controlled through the keyboard. The Cryocare CS System is a fully integrated cryosurgical planning, placement, and treatment system designed to deliver targeted cryoablation in treating prostate and kidney cancers.
