Opioid-free ureteroscopy initiatives appear to be reducing new-persistent opioid use

“This paper shows that our efforts to reduce… opioid exposure in the postoperative setting is reducing new persistent opioid use,” says Matthew S. Lee, MD.

In this video, Matthew S. Lee, MD, discusses the recent Urology paper, “Opioid Free Ureteroscopy: what is the true failure rate?” for which he served as a study author. Lee was an endourology fellow at Indiana University at the time of the study and is currently a clinical instructor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
