Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) has agreed to merge with a six-physician urology group in Forth Worth.

Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) has agreed to merge with a six-physician urology group in Forth Worth. Once the merger becomes effective Jan. 1, 2005, UANT said it will become the largest fully integrated urology practice in the United States.

The Forth Worth urologists joining UANT include A.E. Thurman, MD; Ira N. Hollander, MD; Jeffery C. Applewhite, MD; J. Daniel Johnson, MD; F.H. Trey Moore, III, MD; and Scott A. Thurman, MD. These physicians collectively add an additional 75 years of urologic practice to the practice, UANT said.

"Our depth and breadth of experience will enable our two highly qualified medical groups to come together to see an anticipated 125,000 patients in 2005," said John House, MD, physician leader of UANT.

Due to its size, UANT said it will be able to deliver highly skilled patient care in a wide variety of subspecialties, including urologic oncology, incontinence, male infertility, and pediatric urology.
