Urology on the Beach 2026 showcases rising stars and integrated care
Raveen Syan, MD, FPMRS, shares her excitement about the Rising Star Program, now entering its second year.
In this video, Raveen Syan, MD, FPMRS, the director of Female Urology and an associate professor of clinical urology at the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, University of Miami, highlights what makes the 2026 Urology on the Beach program distinct and compelling.
A major new addition to the benign urology program is the integration of reconstructive surgery, uniting traditionally separate areas such as female urology/urogynecology and male reconstruction. Syan explains that, at their institution, close collaboration between female pelvic medicine specialists and male reconstructive urologists is already the norm when managing complex cases. Bringing this team-based approach to the conference allows attendees to learn from multiple expert perspectives and gain practical insight into managing challenging patients more holistically.
Syan also shares her excitement about the Rising Star Program, now entering its second year. This initiative spotlights trainees and early-career faculty who are doing innovative work in urology, offering them a platform to share their research and ideas while fostering mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth. She emphasizes that this aligns with the broader mission of the conference: learning from one another and building meaningful professional connections.
Beyond the scientific content, Syan underscores that the defining feature of Urology on the Beach is its focus on community. Sessions are designed to be highly interactive, encouraging dialogue, shared experiences, and collaboration. Rather than a one-directional teaching model, the conference promotes collective learning with the shared goal of improving patient care.
