Dr. Nickel highlights first 2 parts of pivotal review of saw palmetto in BPH
“What's interesting in Dr Strum's analysis of these trials is that he not only looked at the English literature, which many of us are familiar with, but he looked at the many studies done in countries that were published in the non-English literature and never found [their] way into any of our analyses,” says J. Curtis Nickel, MD, FRCSC.
In this video, J. Curtis Nickel, MD, FRCSC, discusses the first two parts of the study, “Serenoa repens (saw palmetto) for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS): The evidence for efficacy and safety of lipidosterolic extracts,” which was conducted by Stephen B. Strum, MD, FACP. Nickel is a professor of urology at Queen’s University, and a research chair in urologic pain and inflammation at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
