Jonathan Henderson, MD, recaps his LUGPA 2025 session, “Lessons Learned: Avoiding Pitfalls in Urology Practice Management.”

At the 2025 LUGPA Annual Meeting, Jonathan Henderson, MD, delivered a talk titled, “Lessons Learned: Avoiding Pitfalls in Urology Practice Management.” During the meeting, Henderson sat down with Urology Times® to share the key takeaways from the session.

“Lesson number one is do not disengage,” Henderson explained. “There's an old saying that nobody cares about your money as much as you do. The same thing goes for your practice. Nobody cares about how well your practice does as much as you.”

Henderson is a urologist at Arkansas Urology in Little Rock.

Henderson also commented on finding the balance between new technologies and financial and administrative constraints. The key, he emphasized, is to find what technologies work well for you and your practice, and always keep the patient first.

“One of the real north stars for me has always been to keep patient care number 1,” he concluded. “If you do the right thing for the patient, then the finances follow.”
