Sudha Jayaraman, MD, MSc, FACS, recaps a session from the 2026 Urology on the Beach meeting focused on AI in health care.

In an interview at the 2026 Desai Sethi Urology Institute Urology on the Beach meeting, Sudha Jayaraman, MD, MSc, FACS, recaps a session on the use of ambient artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice. Jayaraman is a professor of surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City as well as the medical director for clinical strategy and research at Suki AI.

During the discussion, Jayaraman details how ambient AI can relieve some of the administrative burden that many physicians experience, including urologists. By listening and summarizing patient encounters, ambient AI tools can cut down on the time that clinicians dedicate to clinical documentation, allowing them to stay be present both during patient encounters and outside of the clinic.

As Jayaraman notes, these tools provide robust outputs that often require minimal editing on the part of the physician.
